The Wishing Fountain

I watched as others made their wishes
and I wanted to make one too.
But I knew inside my heart
that my wish would never come true.

Then someone looked at me,
she must of been thirteen.
She was much bigger then me
but she didn't really look mean.

Then I came over,
and oh what joy it did bring.
When she open her hand
and I saw a silver thing.

She put the quarter in my hand
then squeezed my hand tight,
and she told me to think
with all of my might.

She told me to think of what I want
something more then silver and gold.
She said "Maybe I want to be happy
or have a hand to forever hold."

"Never tell anyone this wish."
But she said to always remember.
"Remember the day that you made this wish,
the third of September."

I still haven't told anyone this wish
and sadly it hasn't come true.
But this I want to ask....
I have a wish but do you?

  1. I watched as other little children made wishes in the fountain yesterday. I remember vividly how i use to do that same thing. I also remember believing that if i made a wish to be happy forever i thought it would come true. In a way i still do believe in that. If you wish something.... and you strive for your wish.... I do believe it can come true. So i want you to make a wish of your own and strive for it every day. Be a little child again.
