What friends are for . . .

"Isn't that what friends are for"
I hear it again and again
"Isn't that what friends are for"
I hear it from a compassionate friend

So one day I asked myself,
what are friends for?
And this is my answer,
yes this is my answer for sure.

Friends are for the times when you feel like giving up.
For the days were you just need a hug.
Maybe on day you are just in a bad mood.
Then your shirt gets a tug.

You turn around and see your friend.
Then she hands you something new.
You're confused and ask, "what is this for?"
And she says," just because I love you."

So the next time you say thank you to a friend
and they say isn't that what friends are for.
You can reply,
Yes it is and it will be evermore.
